The Project “59 Brides” started (unintentionally) on May 25th, 2003, during Hiram and Irina’s first date and
finished
on January 20th, 2005 on their wedding day. A photograph taken of Hiram during their
first date accidentally had a
bride in the background. Project 59 Brides was created for Hiram to catch up
with Irina’s previous marriages and
affairs and her art. He was slipping into every wedding party they accidentally ran
into. The collection of brides was
produced in Ohio, New York, Iowa and Colorado
in the USA, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem in Israel, Moscow and St.
Petersburg in Russia, in Sidney, Australia and
in Kharkov, Ukraine. Irina was Hiram's 59th bride. HIRAMANDIRINA
